  i just came across a thread from 2002, (i'll link it here in the next post), about congregations in upstate ny, many that were with a vt circuit i was in for many years.

  in there i wrote the following about a infamous pedophile case involving an elder, don nicholson.

  Flood insurance and cover for overland flooding

  with the huge floods in alberta the news now is starting to cover the issue of property damange and insurance.. we've never really thought a lot about insurance cover for flooding because it became a big issue in the uk about 5-10 years ago with limited land availability leading to building on flood plains and the eventual inevitable consequences and so when we bought over here we didn't buy anywhere that was a possible flood risk.

  our choice seems to have worked out as we've been completely untouched by the recent issues but tragically, others have been less fortunate and apparently few people are covered for 'overland flooding' which is where water enters your house through doors and windows.. it's hard to really know what is fair.

  i understand the reason why insurers don't cover it and the arguments on both sides.. one one hand, we included the flood risk when puchasing a home.

  Simon,

  Being from the tornado area, it is covered in standard insurance policies. Not floods though. I do not know about hurricanes on the coasts, but I believe wind damage is covered, but not storm surges.

  if he created them, then he would have had to use divine intervention to protect people from eating them or burning them.

  even after being told not to and passing that knlowedge on, small children could inadvertently get into poison berries or mushrooms.

  what about bacteria that causes extreme stomach problems like giardia?

  I just want a divorce!

  hi there, this is my first post, but i've been buzzing around this site for years.. i got married at 18, hubby was 20, i was a regular pioneer and we were talking about serving in bethel.

  fast forward - i left in 2004 after a 5 year battle with my conscience, family and friends who kept insisting that i was just "weak and needed to have another bible study".

  however hubby and i stayed together although it was kinda on the understanding that we would just not talk about it.

  Welcome, and sorry about your situation.

  When he wrote you back and said he does not want an unscriptual divorce, he was basically asking you to give him scriptural grounds. He probably has someone lined up already that he would like to replace you with. They may have already done the deed, but he wants to blame you so he can look like the wronged party.

  Remember, HE is the one that moved out and abandoned you and your children. He has no high ground to stand on. If nothing else, his sexual abandonment of you puts you both in a bad situation. Elders normally do not like that.

  Figuratively speaking, cut his balls off in court.
